Most people choose to participate in a cancer trial because they believe the benefits outweigh the risks. Talk with your doctor to learn if a clinical trial is a good option for you.

MOST importantly when making a decision to participate in a clinical trial, talk to your physician. Have all your questions and concerns answered before deciding if taking part in a study is right for you

    QUESTIONS TO ASK

  • What is the purpose of this study?
  • Has the new treatment been tested before? If so, what are the results?
  • How will I know if the treatment is helping me?
  • What are the possible risks, side effects and benefits of taking part in the study?
  • How long will they last?
  • What is likely to happen in my case with, or without, this new research treatment?
  • Where will the treatment take place?
  • Will my medical records be kept confidential?
  • How will teh study affect my daily life?
  • Will insurance cover the costs of tests and treatment?
