    Providence Hospital is home to the Gulf Coast Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program (MB-CCOP) funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), one of thirteen programs in the nation and the only one in Alabama. Created in 1983 by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the MB-CCOP network allows patients and physicians to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials for cancer prevention and treatment while remaining in their local communities.

    OUR MISSION

    Our mission is to improve the health and quality of life for patients in the region by providing premier cancer care in a community-based setting with ongoing educational outreach and access to the latest in clinical research instilling a newfound hope for preventing and treating cancer.
